South Beach Diet: The Basics

If you've tried Atkins and found it too restrictive, South Beach may be for you.

Low-carb instead of no-carb, the diet facilitates weight loss but primarily promotes overall good heath.

How to Eat to Lose:
Carbs are limited during Phase 1 to help kick-start your weight loss.
They're reintroduced in Phase 2 with a focus on "good carbs" such as whole grains, fruits and vegetables.
